Doel earned his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Illinois University (CACREP-Accredited) and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Illinois State University. His professional experience is as diverse as the clients he serves. He has provided therapy in college counseling centers, outpatient clinics, and community organizations, supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, substance use concerns, and life transitions. He also has specialized training in psychological assessment, helping clients better understand learning differences, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. Whether guiding a child through emotional regulation, helping a young adult manage academic stress, or supporting an adult through trauma recovery, Doel tailors therapy to each client’s unique story, goals, and strengths.
Beyond his clinical work, Doel has taught psychology courses at Roosevelt University, where he shared his knowledge of stress management, mindfulness, and human behavior with students eager to learn. His passion for teaching reflects his belief that therapy is not just about understanding the past, but about equipping people with tools and strategies to thrive in the present and future. Doel’s journey also includes service as a U.S. Marine, where he led, mentored, and supported his fellow Marines through challenging circumstances. This experience instilled in him resilience, discipline, and deep respect for perseverance, qualities that now shape his therapeutic work. Clients often find encouragement in his ability to blend structure with empathy, and strength with compassion. At the heart of Doel’s practice is the belief that change is possible and that no one has to face life’s challenges alone. He strives to help clients uncover their inner resources, break through obstacles, and create lives filled with purpose and connection.
